Greetings and welcome to our website. We are glad you have found us during your internet search and hope we can meet and talk about what a great school we have here in Collegedale, Tennessee. Should you be in the greater Chattanooga area, please stop by and let us show you our campus.

Collegedale Adventist Middle School (CAMS) is part of the global Seventh-day Adventist school system and is one of the three schools that make up the Greater Collegedale School System. CAMS was opened in 2010.  We are expecting approximately 148 students as we begin this school year.

Our conference headquarters, Georgia-Cumberland Conference of Seventh-day Adventists, is located in Calhoun, Georgia. We are proud to be part of a strong Bible based educational system that delivers great education around the world using the best educational practices.

Dear School Family,

It is with much excitement and humility that I have accepted the position of principal of Collegedale Adventist Middle School (CAMS). I am grateful to God for the opportunity to serve and work with you and your family.  I consider it a great privilege and honor.

As I assume this new role, I would like to share information about my family and myself so we can become better acquainted.  I graduated from Southern Adventist University with my degree in education, followed by my masters in outdoor education and then masters in administration.  Of my 26 years of classroom teaching, the last 18 years have been in the Collegedale Adventist System. Last school year, in addition to teaching 6th  grade, I served as Vice Principal.

I have been married 29 years to my husband, Steve, who works as a nurse anesthetist in Maryville, TN.   We are blessed with two daughters, Krista and Cassie.  The girls attended and graduated from Spalding, Collegedale Academy and Southern Adventist University.  Our oldest daughter, Krista, received her bachelors in math and taught for 3 years at Spencerville Adventist Academy in Maryland.  She has returned to school to complete her masters in family youth and community sciences. Cassie completed her bachelors of science in nursing and lives and works as a nurse in Asheville, North Carolina. Cassie is also an entrepreneur and recently cofounded a gourmet popcorn company.

It will be exciting to see what God has in store for CAMS for the 2015-2016 school year.  We have an exceptional faculty and staff that are committed to Christian education.  As we work together my prayer is that   “God’s word is a lamp unto our feet and a light unto our path.” Psalms 119:105.  It is God that will lead us.

As Principal of CAMS, my office door is always open and I welcome your input. Please feel free to stop in and get acquainted or make an appointment to discuss any concerns, suggestions, or ideas to help make this the best year yet!

Barbara Hunt
